About

Many people are scared or apprehensive about seeking counseling because of social stigmas, confusion, past experiences with therapy, or something else.  We help you find your path and do what is right for you.  I believe in the core value of client-centeredness and catering to each person’s specific needs.  This means taking the time to incorporate sound professional practices with each person’s family structure. Also, I create a safe and trusting environment to feel secure and comfortable.  My goal is to provide an atmosphere for personal exploration, growth, and recovery.  In my experience, when this occurs, therapy becomes empowering and highly rewarding.

My background is in children and families.  I have been in education for twenty-two years, and my last seven years were focused on trauma and at-risk students. Supporting students and their parents made me feel the urge to get out of the school system and branch out to help our greater community in Thrive Family Counseling.  Some of these needs include but are not limited to: anxiety, parenting, trauma, self-harm, depression, sexual abuse, anger management, and social skills.  My passion is building connections with children, adolescents, and young adults to help them and guide them towards their healthy goals, even if they are not ready to admit them yet.  In addition, I have a special needs son and volunteer for the Special Olympics.  Therefore, I can help parents with the trials, tribulation, stress and let them know that you are not alone.

If you or a family member is considering therapy and would like to schedule or know more, you are welcome to contact the office or myself directly. We are here to help in whatever capacity is correct for you.
