As a therapist I deal with many different populations. Some of these populations consist of clients who are suicidal, depressed, going through relationship issues or need family counseling. These clients range from all ages. I specialize in counseling adolescents. The goals of each of these clients vary, but most of the clients I serve come looking for guidance and new ways to deal with their difficult circumstances. I consider myself an empath, so a lot of times I try to vicariously experience what my clients are experiencing so I can have a better understanding of what they are going through. That strategy also allows me to see the flaws in their way of thinking. My overall goal is to get my clients to think differently and better.
The way I help my clients is very simple. I meet them where they are and cater my therapy to what best fits their needs and comfort. I have strong experience in reality therapy, cognitive behavior therapy and client centered therapy. I also have experience utilizing play and sand box therapy. Now, my experience does not stop me from still seeking more knowledge. Every month I look for new trainings that I can complete that will make me better in my profession. I believe you are never too experienced to pick up on new skills and better ways at doing things.
