About

I am a bilingual addiction counselor with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Excelsior College in Albany, New York, and a Masters in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. I have been a counselor for many years, which has given me a unique and effective approach to counseling. Also, prior to becoming a counselor, I was in the US army from 1976-1982 where I was a Sergeant and served my country overseas. Afterwards, I became and am a proud father of 3 children, a boy and two girls.

I have a passion for helping people self actualize to achieve their goals and full potential. No matter the current struggle, each person has the opportunity to reach these goals. Drugs and alcohol addiction is one of the hardest struggles to overcome, yet there is hope for each person who is ready to change. There is not a “one-size fits all” to serving those with substance abuse issues, so each person is shown the dignity and respect of their background and hurt.

I’ve been working in this field for many years because of the excitement found in hope and transformation. It was seen in one notable achievement of founding Casa Ali Inc in the year 2008 and managed it till 2013 in New York City to help others who had difficulties getting on their feet after being released from jail or prison. Now I am seeing it here at Thrive Family Counseling in the League City area of Texas. If you or someone you know is seeking help for substance use or addiction, I’d be happy to help you during this journey of healing.
