About
I know considering which therapist to see can be hard, so I would like to share a little bit about myself. I have spent 39 years working with children and families throughout life-altering changes, mental health struggles, and social awareness. Most of my years are in the education setting as a bilingual teacher, elementary counselor, high school counselor, high school administrator, MHMR Youth Prevention Counselor, and District Crisis Counselor, all of which I have truly loved and learned so much. Along with my career I have spent much of my spare time providing foster care to over 40 children, eight trips to Africa providing/organizing one of the largest medical missions on earth.
I have five children, one biological and four adopted. In adoption and my profession, I have experience working with mental health diagnoses, expected and unexpected transition, emotional states, and behavioral struggles. Throughout my career, I have recognized each person and situation is different and unique. Therefore, whether working with adults, parents, and/or children, therapy will be tailored to your specific needs and situation. Some therapeutic approaches utilized are: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, bio-psycho-social model, attachment-focused, faith-based, Family Therapy, and/or Individual therapies. If you are considering therapy, and want to know more, please contact the office or myself. I am looking forward to helping in whatever capacity you might need.
