"When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves."

- Victor Frankl

Everyone is unique, so the meaningful solution to deal with problems is different for each person. I am passionate about motivating young people (pre-teens and adolescents) and adults to heal through self- awareness and understanding. Meeting you where you are, I propose to collaboratively identify your goals to formulate a plan of hope to enable you to cope with current situations. The particular therapy used with you will depend on your individual strengths and needs. Knowing that art and music are powerful tools for therapy, I bring this love and understanding of these possibilities into my therapy office to offer unique blends of traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and/or Gottman Couples Therapy, each with an Existential approach.

Twenty-three years of teaching English and Visual Art in both private and public schools and working with countless kiddos and their parents, enabled me to develop an ability to connect easily with others from a wide range of backgrounds, interests and age levels. I experienced firsthand the awesome power of expressive arts to unlock inner voices and create/clarify meanings that helped students achieve hope and confidence. Feeling blessed daily by my students sharing of joys, fears and trials, I began realizing that many times their parents were also in need of support and guidance. So, returning to the university, I obtained a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and am now honored to serve as a therapist at Thrive Family Counseling- Sugar Land.

When not in therapy sessions, I enjoy being with family, gardening, writing, painting, listening to good music, taking long walks with my husband and the practice of yoga.
